Nightly leg cramps are pains in leg that can wake you up due to prolonged hours of inactivity of your body. Leg cramps can last from a couple of seconds to a few minutes and after they pass your muscle, soreness may stay much longer. Women and men are all affected of this annoying condition especially people over 50.

 

There are many cause of nocturnal leg cramps, but the most common are:

Standing or working on concrete floors
Over-exertion of the musc
Pregnancy
Sitting improperly
Diuretics, statins, beta agonists
Parkinson’s disease
Sitting for prolonged periods of time

Neuromuscular disorders
Structural disorders like flat feet
Alcoholism
Endocrine disorders like diabetes
Dehydration

What to do to stop it:

If and when a cramp occurs you will fell almost paralyzed and wont be able to fell the leg.
No need to panic simply sit on the floor and extend both legs.
Next,flex your feet at the ankles and point your toes toward your knees.
Finally stand up and walk around or gently massage the area.
